Purpose and Responsibilities

The Town of Atherton Human Resources Department is dedicated to providing excellent service to our staff and community. The objective of the Human Resources Department is to attract, develop and retain talented and well-qualified employees who help foster a positive working environment for all.

The Department provides guidance and support to other departments, employees, officials, retirees, employment candidates, and the public in the areas of benefits administration, classification and compensation, labor and employee relations, recruitment and selection, organizational development and training, workers compensation administration and risk management. 


Human Resources organizes and coordinates the employee recruitment, screening and selection process. The Town is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of age, sex, religion, national origin, race, color or disability.
