Before or After Hours Construction Permits
The Police Chief has the authority to authorize emergency construction work that exceeds the Town’s noise level limitations and hours of construction regulations. Requests are reviewed on a case by case basis and are typically for construction work that requires continuous work that cannot be delayed once it starts - such as concrete pours.
When permitting work, the contractor shall be required to notify all neighbors abutting the subject parcel along with those parcels directly across the street at least 72 hours in advance of the scheduled work. If the 72-hour advance notice is not possible due to the date of the issuance of the exemption, the contractor shall immediately upon approval of the exemption, notify surrounding residents of the scheduled work. Failure to notify surrounding residents may prevent future exemption approvals.
