Overall Project Activity

Work this week continues with grading of the temporary roadway to the Police Department Secure Parking Lot, the new Sewer Line, installation of the Building Pad for City Hall, and Building Layout for the Library.
Live webcams for Library site work and the City Hall/PD site work are now active on the Town's website. There is also a project progress photo gallery.
City Hall/Police Building

S.J. Amoroso is finalizing the grading and base rock for the temporary roadway from Fair Oaks into the secure Police Parking lot. Parking for the Police Department has to be relocated as work on the new building moves forward.
The S.J. Amoroso has finished much of the base building pad and will soon begin layout of the building and survey siting of the drilled pier locations. Underground drainage also has to be completed around and under the building pad.
Adjacent to the main City Hall and Police Building is the new Secure Police Parking Lot. Within that lot (between the new building and the Caltrain tracks) is the Police Ancillary Building. Next S.J. Amoroso will finalize the building pad and layout for the Ancillary Building. Following its layout, in mid-August, S.J. Amoroso will layout and excavate the grade beams for the building.
Historic Town Hall

Demolition of the interior of the historic Town Hall building is still in progress. As an old building, there is some lead-based paint abatement required before the contractor can remove the old ceiling, walls and flooring. This building will ultimately become a part of the new Library connected via a deck and patio doors that spill out from the side of the building onto the new deck. The front doors of the entry way area are being saved and refinished for reinstallation at the end of the remodel.
New Library

Work this week involves the finish grading of the building pad site for the new library. Survey work for the drilled piers completed and batter board will be set for the site. Drilling and installing of piers is scheduled to begin on Thursday and Friday of this week.
Once the batter board is installed, you'll be able to see the layout of the new building, deck, and connection to the historic Town Hall.
Site Work
Overall site work is focused on utilities. The new sewer line work continues moving from Maple Avenue to Fair Oaks. CalWater should be on site in mid-August to begin installation of the new water line that will follow the same route. This work will continue well through August and into September.
