[ARCHIVED] Facts about working on your property on weekends and holidays

question

Can an owner work on their own property on weekends and holidays?

With all the construction in town, and contractors generally limited to working Monday through Friday, homeowners often ask if they can work on the weekends.

The simple answer is YES as long as you (the homeowner) are doing the work.

The Atherton Municipal code states: Residents/property owners when personally operating equipment are exempt from the basic noise regulation when they are personally undertaking construction activities to maintain or improve their property on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays between the hours of ten a.m. and five p.m. Such activities are restricted to the use of hand and power tools only.
