NOTICE TO VOTERS OF DATE AFTER WHICH NO ARGUMENTS
FOR OR AGAINST A CITY MEASURE MAY BE SUBMITTED
TO THE CITY CLERK
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at the Special Municipal Consolidated Election to be held in the Town of Atherton on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, the following measure is to be voted on:
“To continue providing funding to maintain neighborhood police patrols and the Town’s ability to respond to emergencies, repairing and maintaining streets, and repairing and constructing storm drains, shall an ordinance be adopted to continue a Special Parcel Tax for four years and allowing for the expenditure of funds derived from such tax?”
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, pursuant to the provisions of Sections 9282-9286 of the Elections Code of the State of California, the following deadlines are hereby established as the final dates on which direct arguments for or against the measure appearing on the ballot may be submitted to the City Clerk/Elections Official for printing and distribution to the voters as required by law:
The deadline to file a direct written argument, not to exceed 300 words is:
5:00 p.m. Thursday, August 15, 2013
Arguments shall be submitted to the City Clerk/Elections Official, accompanied by the printed name(s) and signature(s) of the author(s) submitting it, or if submitted on behalf of an organization, the name of the organization and the printed name and signature of at least one of its principal officers who is the author of the argument.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the impartial analysis and direct arguments filed will be available for public examination in the Clerk’s Office for not less than 10-calendar days from the deadline for the filing of the arguments and analysis.
