[ARCHIVED] Take Caltrain to the America's Cup

Caltrain

Italy’s Luna Rossa Challenge will square off against Emirates Team New Zealand for two days of technically-precise sailing in the San Francisco Bay as part of the Louis Vuitton Cup Finals. The first race takes place at 1:10 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. The winner of the Louis Vuitton Cup will square off against Oracle Team USA in the finals of the America’s Cup next month.

The first train arrives in San Francisco at 8:36 a.m. on Saturday and 9:36 a.m. on Sunday. Trains will be delivering passengers every hour to San Francisco, along with a Baby Bullet train arriving at 11:39 a.m., in time for the races. Depending on crowd sizes for the sailing races, Caltrain will determine whether to add extra train capacity on Saturday and Sunday.

In San Francisco, Caltrain riders can transfer to various Muni connections, and ride them the Marina Green, Piers 27/29 and other points along the San Francisco Bay.

Caltrain is a proof-of-payment system, tickets must be purchased before boarding the train, and ticket vending machines are available at stations. For fare and schedule information, call 1.800.660.4287 (TTY 650.508.6448) or visit www.caltrain.com.
