[ARCHIVED] Rain and Power Outages

As the rain continues to fall, and interruptions to your power and communications systems occur, we are hearing from some of you that your local utilities are not always giving you best information as it pertains to outages. Specifically, when downed utilities can be expected be restored or receiving information of a date/time to expect service and it never comes. This can be very frustrating.

Listed below are some phone numbers for our municipal telephone and electrical representatives that you can use that offer real-time information as it pertains to outages, que times for repairs and problem solving that is taking place in our town. I had hoped to be able to provide you a “local” number for this information, but the fact is, these numbers do not exist on a 24/7/365 basis. But these numbers will provide you with a LIVE person (if you request an emergency) that can access all service requests, records and updates as it pertains to your specific problem.

For phone service problems (AT&T) call: 611 or 1-800-246-8464 or to direct a repair directly into a que, www.att.com/repair

For local power service problems (PG&E), call: 1-800-743-5000 (1 for emergency will get you a live person). (PG&E is VERY good at this)

Hopefully, these numbers will lead you to staff that will be able to “drill down” to your problem at hand and assist you to get your needs resolved.
