The Little League baseball field is moving right along at the park. Today, approximately 38,000 square feet of sod was installed at the site. This sod is the one and the same as they use at AT&T Park, and it looks absolutely beautiful. Volunteers will be at the park tomorrow (Saturday, April 11) until noon dialing in the sprinkler system, which is obviously a very important item right now.
All the water being used is non-potable well water, and is currently under no State restrictions in its use. Once established, every means at our disposal will be used to assure that all of the parks turf areas are kept alive using a minimum amount of this precious resource even though no restrictions are currently in place for well water usage.
It shouldn’t be long until “play ball” is heard again at the park.
