[ARCHIVED] Crime Prevention Tip

crime prevention tip

In the past couple of weeks, officers have responded to several calls in northwest Atherton involving suspicious circumstances, thefts or attempt thefts from unlocked vehicles, and residential burglaries where there was no signs of forced entry. Several of these crimes are currently under investigation by police. Residents are asked to immediately report any suspicious persons or circumstances in their neighborhood to police. Residents are also reminded to keep their car windows rolled completely up and doors locked when their vehicles are unattended, and never leave valuables in plain view. The same applies to your residence. When leaving your residence or when asleep, particularly during hours of darkness, make sure that all of your doors and window are locked, including garages and outhouses. Many of the property crimes committed in Atherton are crimes of opportunities related to unlock vehicles and dwellings. Help us to prevent property crimes by properly securing your vehicles, homes and valuables.
