[ARCHIVED] Burglary and Prowler Activity in the Selby Ln & Cebalo Ln Neighborhood

On July 3, a resident of home in the first block of Selby Ln reported a burglary. Unknown suspects used a rock to enter the house to commit theft. The theft occurred between 12PM-8PM.

The next day, July 4, a resident on Cebalo Ln reported a suspicious person who first knocked on his door before fleeing into the back yard. Shortly after, while officers were still on scene with the first caller, another resident on Cebalo Ln called 9-1-1 to report seeing a prowler in their back yard. With the help of allied agencies, officers searched the area, but did not locate suspect.

On July 8, another resident on Cebalo Ln reported seeing a person in his back yard at approximately 3:00AM. The resident did not contact police until the next morning.

Officers have reviewed surveillance video obtained from this neighborhood. The prowler is likely entering via the fence line from the area of Renato Ct, Redwood City.

The Police Department has increased patrols in this area. Should you see a suspicious person in your yard, please call 9-1-1 immediately. It is a good practice to lock your doors at night and if you have a security system, arm it. Motion detecting security lights also act as a deterrent.
