[ARCHIVED] Town Annual Report - FY 2016/17

Annual_Report.jpg
Each Council Meeting, the Council Agenda includes a "City Manager's Report." The Report includes statistics from the various different departments of the happenings for the month. Now there's an Annual Report that brings it all together!

Annual_Report.jpgIn an effort to consolidate the data gathered in a readable format, we put together this Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2016/17 (just ending June 30, 2017) that highlights the major activities for the year, statistics, projects, and other data. We hope to be able to continue this effort each year.

This Report, together with the Annual Budget, provides a means of viewing the Town's successes or failures in moving toward the 6 broad goals established by the City Council. The Council goals are refined every other year as part of a City Council Workshop.

The Goals established by the City Council are:
  • Seek out and Maintain Fiscal Responsibility
  • Preserve our Small-Town Character and Quality of Life
  • Create a New, Vibrant Town Center & Library
  • Manage Circulation and Improve Safety Throughout Town
  • Strengthen Community Engagement and Transparency
  • Be a Forward-Thinking, Well-Managed and Well-Planned Town
The last year has been a "building year" for the Town. Not simply brick and mortar projects, since these are an inevitable by-product of an aging infrastructure, but FY 2016/17 also saw some organizational change, significant strides on the new Town Center, and policy achievements with the adoption of the Town's Climate Action Plan.

Take a read through the Annual Report and send me your feedback on how we can make it better. The Report, together with the Budget, provides a big picture view of how the Town is doing.

Thanks for reading!
