On 10-11-13, the Atherton Police Department learned of a theft that occurred on Carolina Ln during the previous night. The suspect entered two unlocked vehicles. That person also went into a garage that had inadvertently been left open. The thief took some personal electronics and unused gift cards.
Carolina Ln is a cul-de-sac that runs off of Stockbridge Av and is in the same neighborhood where previous thefts and burglaries have taken place in the past two months.
Residents can help us not only by calling about suspicious activity, but also by securing their property. Please lock your vehicles overnight. Video surveillance can be a great tool for us too. If you have a system, please make certain it is working properly and recording. Finally, if you have an alarm system, please consider arming it when you are away and while you're home asleep.
