On 04/11/2019, at approximately 3:20 PM, Officers responded to the unit block of James Avenue on the report of a possible interrupted burglary. Two landscape workers saw the suspect, Douglas Daniel Garciarodriguez, a 32 year old San Francisco resident, in the backyard of a James Avenue residence. A short time later, the two landscape workers saw Garciarodiguez inside their company truck, where he allegedly stole a thermos, a sports drink, and a pastry and ran off. The two landscape workers chased Garciarodriguez down the street and into the backyard of a residence on the 200 block of Catalpa Drive.
A short time later, police located Garciarodriguez in the backyard of the Catalpa Drive residence and arrested him without incident. Garciarodriguez was booked into the San Mateo County Jail for being in violation of California Penal Code Sections 647(h)- Prowling, and 488- Petty theft.
