Town of Atherton – May 1, 2020 (updated on 5/30)

TOWN OF ATHERTON IS SEEKING THE FOLLOWING COMMITTEE & COMMISSION MEMBERS. All appointees must be Town of Atherton residents. To accommodate the staggering of terms, appointment terms may be 1-year, 2-year, 3-year, or 4-year depending on the needs of the particular committee.

Audit and Finance Committee – 2 Potential Vacancies

The Audit and Finance Committee meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 2 pm. The City Council will appoint two (2) applicants to the committee. One appointment will be for a 3-year term and one will be for a 4-year term.

Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee – 1 Vacancy

The Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee meets as needed, but typically on the 4th Tuesday of every other month at 4 pm. The City Council will appoint one (1) applicant to the committee. The appointment will be for a 4-year term.

Environmental Programs Committee – 1 Vacancy

The Environmental Programs Committee meets as needed, but typically on the 3rd Thursday of every other month at 1 pm. The City Council will appoint one (1) applicant to the committee. The appointment will be for a 4-year term.

Parks and Recreation Committee – 2 Vacancies (1 General Seat and 1 Foundation Seat)

The Parks and Recreation Committee meets on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm. The City Council will appoint one (1) applicant for a general seat and one (1) Foundation appointment to the committee. The general seat appointment is for a 4-year term. The Foundation seat appointment is for a 2-year term.

Planning Commission – 2 Vacancies

The Planning Commission meets at a regularly scheduled time and date set by the Commission. Typically, the Commission meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 6 pm. The City Council will appoint two (2) applicants to the commission. One appointment will be for a 2-year term and one appointment will be for a 4-year term.

Rail Committee – 3 Vacancies

The Rail Committee meets on the 1st Tuesday of every other month at 6 pm. The City Council will appoint three (3) applicants to the committee. Appointments will be for 4-year terms.

Transportation Committee – 3 Vacancies

The Transportation Committee meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every other month. The City Council will appoint three (3) applicants to the committee. One appointment will be for a 1-year term and 2 appointments will be for 4-year terms.
