Census Bureau in Atherton

The field data collection operations for population counts were stopped several months back in response to COVID-19 Stay at Home Orders. This stoppage has been ongoing for several months.

The census bureau has been given the go-ahead to resume population counts in Atherton. This means that there will be Census Bureau field staff working in neighborhoods and knocking on doors to make contact with residents  to complete their 2020 census questionnaire.

Please note that all field data collection operations for the 2020 Census will end by September 30, 2020.

All Census Bureau Field staff can be identified by their Census Photo Identification.

If you become suspicious of someone claiming to be a Census Field Staff member, please call the Atherton Police Department so we can help to determine whether the person is a legitimate census employee. Contact us at 650.688.6500
