[ARCHIVED] Free Recycling Event For All Atherton Residents

April 16 2022 Event - E-Waste

Community E-Waste, Paper Shredding, Compost Giveaway 2022 

The Town of Atherton will be hosting a free recycling event on Saturday, April 16th from 10 AM to 1:00 PM at Holbrook-Palmer Park at 150 Watkins Avenue. For questions about the Community E-Waste collection, paper shredding, and compost giveaway please contact Anthony Suber at asuber@ci.atherton.ca.us or Francesca Reyes at freyes@ci.atherton.ca.us or call 650-752-0500. 

Acceptable E-Waste items include: TVs, computers, printers, monitors, laptops, cables/cords, cell phones, MP3 and DVD players, and more (working or not).

INSTRUCTIONS

E-Waste & Paper Shredding: 

Contactless Drop-off : 
Residents may place their E-Waste or paper to be shredded shredding in their trunks for the on-site staff to collect and recycle. For paper, we suggest having them labeled, and if possible removing any personal items. Our vendor can collect the items from your trunk to recycle. 

Park & Drop-off (Shred): 
Residents may park in the designated areas, and walk their E-Waste or paper to be shredded to the areas designated for collection and recycling.  

Compost Giveaway:


Residents may park in the designated area behind the 2nd parking lot to retrieve the compost. The Town will provide shovels and bags while supplies last. We encourage you to bring additional bags, gloves, and extra shovels. Please note that the compost collection is done entirely by the resident. 

All staff and vendors will be adhering to County Health Officer COVID-19 rules in place at the time. We will provide sanitizing stations for visitors.
