November 3, 2020 Elections Update

Atherton Vote-by-Mail (VBM) Drop Box:


The Atherton Vote-by-Mail drop-box is located at 150 Watkins Avenue, Atherton CA, 94027 | Holbrook-Palmer Park within the Town Administrative Offices. This is an indoor drop-box and office hours are currently Monday to Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.  

There are outdoor Vote-by-Mail drop-boxes available 24-hours a day at:

  • Menlo Park City Hall – 701 Laurel Street, Menlo Park, CA 94025  
  • Redwood City - 555 County Center, Redwood City, CA 94063
As of 10/30/2020 the San Mateo County Elections Department collected 1108 ballots from the Atherton Drop-Box. 

Atherton Vote Center:

The Atherton Vote Center will open on October 31st through November 3rd, Election Day.  It will be located at: 

Menlo College, El Camino Hall - 1000 El Camino Real, Atherton, CA 94027

Election Day Security: 

Concerns across the County have been raised regarding safety at voting locations and for election related protests or civil unrest. Within San Mateo County there have been no indications of safety concerns at voting locations and no information related to any planned election related protests. Chief Steve McCulley had the following message to residents and neighbors:

"The Atherton Police Department will be at full staff on Election Day and will be working closely with other law enforcement in San Mateo County to ensure a safe voting experience for all."

San Mateo County - Orange Tier

COVID-19 Update

The State of California announced the easing of certain restrictions on activities in San Mateo County which took effect on Wednesday, October 28th. The County moved into the less restrictive "Orange Tier" in the state's four-tier, color-coded plan.

Coats for Kids 


In partnership with Recology of San Mateo County the Town is pleased to share the Coats for Kids Program with residents.   

This year’s Coats for Kids curbside collection  will take place during the week of November 9th  -  November 13th.  

The Town will have collection containers at our Town Hall Administrative Offices at 150 Watkins Avenue in Holbrook Palmer Park.
