COVID-19 Vaccinations Encouraged

The Town of Atherton strongly encourages every resident in Town, as well as all of our Town staff, to GET VACCINATED for the COVID-19 virus, if health and personal religious beliefs permit it. The Town is in alignment with the County and State in requiring that all non-vaccinated individuals wear a face covering when inside public facilities. That policy is subject to becoming more strict as we deal with the different variants of COVID-19.

Vaccination is available throughout San Mateo County. To view a calendar of County-sponsored and supported clinics click here or go to MyTurn or walk or drive to one of the 60 pharmacies offering shots. As of July 26th the County reported approximately 11 percent of San Mateo County residents remain unvaccinated.

Ways to help & Upcoming Events:
Multijurisdictional Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP) assess communities vulnerabilities to disasters and identifies strategies local jurisdictions will pursue to limit risks. The plan is currently being updated by the Counties Department of Emergency Management. You can participate on:

  • August 5: Comment on the draft plan - visit the LHMP website - click here
  • August 12: Attend Public Workshop #2 - click here
  • Learn more and sign up for updates - click here

We must do all that we can as a community to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Caltrain
Caltrain

Caltrain Construction Updates - July 31 to August 6, 2021

Caltrain will be working during the day to install conduit. Caltrain will be working during the night to install foundations. Day work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Night work hours will be from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

What is Single-Tracking?

Caltrain riders are well aware, Caltrain has two main tracks, Main Track 1, which goes north and Main Track 2, which goes south. Single-tracking is when Caltrain runs both northbound and southbound trains on a single track in a particular section of the corridor. This could mean that the train you’re wanting to catch may actually be on a different platform than usual.
