Citizens Academy 2022

What is a "Citizens' Police Academy?"

The Citizens' Police Academy is a one-day citizen engagement program that is designed to provide Atherton residents with first-hand information about how their Police Department works. Training will be in an “academy setting” with a few hands-on exercises designed to give the participant a more realistic sense of what it’s like to work as a peace officer.

Participation in the Academy requires a commitment of one full day and early evening (7:00 am – 5:00 pm). The Academy will occur on October 1, 2022 at the Police Department  (80 Fair Oaks Lane). Food will be provided for participants.

ADAPT

A.D.A.P.T  Emergency Preparedness Tips

One quick step any household resident should take on is the making of an evacuation plan. For a step by step form, visit: www.getreadyatherton.org/make-a-plan. Be sure to identify out-of-town contacts, practice climbing ladders from your fences, make a plan with your family on where your two-story ladders will be located, where the non-electric phone and radio will be stored...etc.

Everyone in your household will be thankful for the extra confidence you built within your family unit.
