Power Outage & Storm Incidents Updates


The City Manager's Office has provided updates via the Town website and alert center regarding power outages and storm incidents. We encourage residents to view the website and subscribe to our notification channels (click here).

According to the PG&E Outage Website there are a few small pockets of outages that remain in Atherton (approximately 100 customers). PG&E notes anticipated restoration by late this evening (2/24). PG&E has advised that they are aware of all outages and repairs are either in progress or crews have been assigned to assess and report so that crews can be assigned.

Housing Element News & Information


The Town certified, adopted and submitted its Housing Element for the 2023-2031 Housing Cycle to the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) for its review on January 31, 2023. Comments are anticipated in 60 days.  


The Town recently released a letter notifying property owners within a 500-foot radius of the Gilmore House within Holbrook-Palmer Park. To review the letter click here.

FEMA Individual Assistance

  • FEMA’s Individual Assistance program provides direct financial assistance to residents impacted by the January 2023 storms whose related costs are not covered by insurance. Eligible cost categories include temporary housing, repair/replacement of owner-occupied homes, repair or replacement of personal property and vehicles, or funds for moving and storage, medical, dental, child care, and funerals. 
  • Residents can apply at www.disasterassistance.gov or by calling the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362.

Earth Day 2023 - We Love Our Earth Festival

 

The Town of Atherton and the Atherton Environmental Programs Committee are partnering with cities, schools, and community-based organizations from across the peninsula for an Earth Day celebration on Saturday, April 22nd at Menlo Atherton Highschool from 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Attendees will enjoy:

Knox Playschool 


For the 2023-24 school year, Playschool in Holbrook-Palmer Park is offering a 5 day a week preschool program, M-F, 8:30-2:00 pm for children aged 2 – 5 years old. There will be an extended care option on Monday-Thursday from 2:00-5:00 pm.

They have also added a Monday/Wednesday 9:00-12:00 option for the youngest preschoolers (minimum age 2). 

There is a parent participation class for toddlers (12-24 months) on Friday mornings from 9:30-11:00. 

Playschool runs from September to mid-June and the schedule is based on Menlo Park School District’s traditional calendar. 

Summer Camp starts the last weeks of June and runs through early August.

Create a Family Emergency Plan                                                                                                                              Where will you go?  How will you communicate if you are separated?   Have you identified escape routes?   Where will you shut off gas, should you turn it off or on?
