Apply to Serve on a Committee!
Advisory bodies, such as the Town's Committees, are an essential element in local government that serve the community by examining important issues, collecting input from the public, and assisting with the development of work plans and projects to support city council goals. Each week, we will be featuring one of our committees and different ways that you can get involved.
Take Action with the Environmental Programs Committee this Earth Month
April starts Earth Month! This gives us all the opportunity to consider what actions we can take to protect our planet and take care of our community. Joining the Environmental Programs Committee is one great way to take climate action, influence Town programs and events that improve the environment, and bring community members together.
The committee has the following powers and duties:
- Make recommendations (programmatic and legislative) to the City Council upon
request on all matters pertaining to the Town’s natural and built environment and the Town’s regional role and responsibilities as one of the communities on the San Francisco Bay Peninsula. - Create pro-active community engagement programs for residents, commercial and public enterprises active within the Town’s jurisdiction for presentation to and consideration and approval by, the City Council.
Are you interested in serving on the Environmental Programs Committee? Attend the Love Our Earth Festival on Saturday, April 22 from 11 am to 4 pm to see for yourself what it's all about! The Environmental Programs Committee is hosting the event with many community partners and will have a booth for you to stop by to get more information about serving on the Committee.
