ReThinkWaste Annual Poster Contest

RethinkWaste recently opened its annual Poster Contest! This year’s RethinkWaste Poster Contest theme is 4R’s in the Classroom, which encourages students to reflect and illustrate how they Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Rot in their class and around their school. All 3rd-5th grade students in our service area are invited to participate!
 
As always, the first place winner’s poster will be displayed on the side of a Recology San Mateo County’s residential collection vehicle in the winner’s city. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will all receive tickets to a local science museum. Submissions are due to the San Carlos offices at 610 Elm Street, Suite 202 no later than Friday, October 4th at noon.

Atherton Arts Foundation Art Show Tomorrow!

Atherton Arts Foundation is celebrating the arts at the end of the summer by artists who live and work in Atherton and surrounding areas. The show features paintings, photography, and sculptures. Come support the Arts of Atherton this Saturday, September 21st at Holbrook-Palmer Park, Jennings Pavilion from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm they are hosting a free event open to the public.

Safety Cameras and ALPR Updates

On October 2, 2019, the Atherton Police Department will present to City Council a review of practical uses and applications of Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) tools and Public Safety Cameras in Town. The presentation will take place during the Council Study Session held at Holbrook-Palmer Park in Jennings Pavilion.

Special Joint Study Session with the   City of Menlo Park

Weekly Atherton "Did you know?"


In an effort to ensure our resident are properly informed, we plan to share weekly tips on Town services and resources. 

Did you know... that the Town has a "Special Event Permit" ordinance and application process in place (Town Ordinance Chapter 17.56 Special Events).  You can obtain the application online and submit it to the Administration Trailer at Holbrook-Palmer Park. If you have any questions regarding an event that you will be hosting, please contact the City Clerk's Department at 650-752-0500.
